BARBARESCO 'CAMPOLIBERO' RICOSSA 2020 DESCRIPTION

In the heart of Piedmont, land of history and oenological nobility, Barbaresco 'Campolibero' Ricossa is born, a red wine that celebrates the uniqueness of the Langhe terroir. The Ricossa winery, with origins in the picturesque landscape of Asti at the beginning of the 1900s, has found its ideal home in the Ca' dei Mandorli estate in Castel Boglione. Here, on a property of 74 hectares, the vineyards form a wonderful natural amphitheater, the cradle of Nebbiolo grapes destined to create this extraordinary wine.

Barbaresco 'Campolibero' Ricossa draws its essence from unique soils, characterized by a combination of limestone, clay, and silt, typical of the Barbaresco area. This particular soil, along with artisanal and organic production techniques, contributes to giving the wine significant complexity. The Nebbiolo grapes, carefully harvested, undergo alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging for at least 2 years, of which 9 months in wood. Its great structure is enhanced by aging for at least 38 months, allowing the wine to fully develop its personality and elegant characteristics.

Barbaresco 'Campolibero' Ricossa presents itself with an intense ruby red color, enriched by garnet reflections that enhance its beauty and depth. On the nose, elegant balsamic scents of thyme and sage emerge, followed by a pleasant note of vanilla, licorice, and cocoa. In the mouth, the wine reveals itself surprisingly intense, full, and round, with delicate but persistent tannins. A perfect accompaniment to Piedmontese cuisine, mushrooms, and aged cheeses, Barbaresco 'Campolibero' Ricossa offers an unforgettable sensory experience, highlighting the excellence of the gastronomic products of this region. To be left in the cellar for 15 to 25 years to discover unique notes and sensations.
