Elio Altare, a prominent figure in the Piedmontese wine innovation school, significantly contributed to redefining the very concept of Barolo, bringing a wind of change influenced by both France and the New World. The roots of Barolo Arborina delve into the picturesque hills of the municipality of La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe, where vines of varying ages, some dating back to 1948, lie on a mixed terrain of marl and sandy clay, exposed to the southern sun. The production of this wine follows a rigorous vineyard work philosophy, with reduced yields per hectare and special care for the vine's vegetative cycle. In the cellar, the vinification and aging process occurs according to established traditions, with maceration on the skins in a rotary fermenter, a tank shaped like a transverse drum primarily used for reds, followed by aging in French oak barrels for 24 months, contributing to the wine's distinctive complexity and structure.
