CHAMPAGNE ROSÉ BRUT 'LA GRANDE DAME' VEUVE CLICQUOT 2015 (PACKAGING) DESCRIPTION

The Champagne Rosé Brut "La Grande Dame" by Veuve Clicquot is a label dedicated to Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, known as "la Grande Dame de la Champagne," for her prominent role, not only within her family’s Maison but also in the broader history of Champagne. It is a prestigious cuvée based on Pinot Noir, with a small addition of Chardonnay. The extraordinary quality of the grapes and a very long aging on the lees result in a Champagne of exceptional finesse and expressive intensity, complex and persistent.

The Rosé "La Grande Dame" comes from one of the most famous Maisons. Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 and remains one of the most renowned brands in the world, thanks to its range of excellent quality labels. The grapes come from the most prized parcels of the Maison, particularly from 6 of the 8 Grand Crus of the estate. The Pinot Noir from the renowned villages of Aÿ, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzy, and Verzenay, while the Chardonnay comes from Le-Mesnil-sur-Oger. After soft pressing, the musts are vinified separately in white. After an aging period, the vins clairs are assembled, and 14% of Pinot Noir vinified in red from the Clos Colin in Bouzy, one of the estate’s historic plots, is added to the cuvée. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method, with a period of at least 10 years resting sur lattes in the ancient cellars of the Maison.

La Grande Dame Brut Rosé by Veuve Clicquot is one of the most prestigious and historically rich Champagnes from the famous Maison in Reims. It possesses the allure of a noble tradition and the charm of one of the personalities who shaped the destiny of Champagne and made it famous worldwide. In the glass, it presents a delicate pale pink color with light and brilliant coppery reflections. The perlage is extraordinarily fine, subtle, and continuous. The bouquet is refined and elegant, with aromas of small red berries, fragrant citrus notes, soft hints of bread crust and small pastries, touches of oriental spices, and dried fruit. On the palate, it has good structure, an intense and rich sip, with ripe and persistent fruit, leading to a harmonious finish characterized by a lively mineral freshness.
