BOX BOURGOGNE E CHABLIS OLIVIER LEFLAIVE (3BT) DESCRIPTION

Olivier Leflaive needs no introduction when it comes to wines from the great noble areas. The 3-bottle box pays tribute to the multifaceted extension of the Domaine, which stretches between the Côte de Beaune and the Chablis region: an itinerary to explore the voluptuous maturity of the south and the taut minerality of the north.

"Box Bourgogne and Chablis Olivier Leflaive (3bt)" represents an interesting comparison of the expressiveness of the two largest areas dedicated to pure Chardonnay. "Les Sétilles" is vinified with grapes from around 60 different plots scattered between the villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Meurault, the Côte Chalonnaise and the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, which share a calcareous soil with the presence of clay and silt, over which the vines of an average age of around 45 years take root. 90% whole bunches, soft pressing and ageing for 14 months in oak barrels and cement vats. "Les Deux Rives", on the other hand, is an expression of the two banks of the Serein river, made from grapes selected from various plots in the Chablis area: Milly, Chichée, Fleys, Courgis, La Chapelle, Lignorelles and Fontenay, which offer clay-limestone soils from the Kimmeridgian era. Vinification with totally destemmed grapes and ageing for 11 months in steel, cement and oak barrels. The triptych finally closes with the Pinot Noir in purity of 'Cuvée Margot', an expression of parcels averaging 30 years of age, extended along the route between Puligny and Pernand-Vergelesses, as well as some old vines in the Hautes Côtes, characterised essentially by silt and clay soils: 20% whole bunches, long fermentation in cement vats and ageing for 16 months in oak barrels.

With the 'Box Bourgogne and Chablis Olivier Leflaive (3bt)', it is possible to take an exciting journey through the wine-growing lands most prized by enthusiasts and collectors. The timeless finesse of Pinot Noir, in its more structured guise in the southern half of the Côte d'Or, will once again illuminate the explosive minerality of the Chardonnay, here declined between the buttery verticality of Beaune and the extreme tension of Chablis.
