MADEIRA MEIO-SECO 'RAINWATER' BARBEITO DESCRIPTION

The Medio-Seco 'Rainwater' is a Madeira from the Vinhos Barbeito cellar, which expresses the harmony and immediate pleasantness of one of the world's greatest fortified wines very well. Fruity aromas, floral aromas and notes from the ageing process blend admirably, providing a high-level taste experience. It is the ideal label for approaching the universe of Madeira wines and getting to know their salient characteristics before entering the world of the versions made with very long wood ageing or vintage. Perfect for enjoying chilled after dinner at a temperature of 12 °C.

Vinhos Barbeito's Madeira Medio-Seco 'Rainwater' represents the classic style of a winery that is now an indispensable reference point for all fans of great Portuguese fortified wines. The cuvée is made from the pure Tinta Negra grape variety, one of the most famous and widespread indigenous Portuguese varieties. The vineyards are located in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos and São Vicente. The Atlantic Ocean climate, always very breezy and cool, allows for excellent ripening. The grapes are vinified with maceration on the skins and stopping the fermentation with the use of pure alcohol in order to preserve residual sugars. The wine matures through the classic estufagem, i.e. a heating process, followed by ageing for at least 3 years in oak barrels.

Vinhos Barbeito's 'Rainwater' is a medium-Seco Madeira of great balance, perfectly balancing fruit ripeness, sweetness and pleasant freshness. A label with a classic face, which, thanks to medium ageing, manages to combine fragrance and refined evolutionary notes. A beautiful luminous gold colour with brilliant reflections, it conquers with an elegant bouquet characterised by floral scents, citrus fragrances, bitter orange peel, soft hints of honey and candied fruit, nuances of dried fruit and hints of noble woods. Harmonious and persuasive, it has a remarkably rich aromatic palette that accompanies a fresh finish with good taste persistence.
