Domaine André Philippon is located in the renowned area of Chablis, in the northernmost part of Burgundy, which has become famous for the exceptional quality of its white wines, considered among the best in the world. This Domaine, owned by the Philippon family, is part of the Chateau de Fleys winery, acquired in 1988 by André Philippon himself, who purchased the castle with its small clos of just one hectare. It is a hunting estate dating back to the late 17th century, formerly owned by the Lord of Parthenay, squire of the famous King Louis XIV, also known as the Sun King. André's grandfather, Julien Philippon, was a lumberjack from Vezelay who moved to the Chablis area at the end of the 19th century to purchase forests, land, and some vineyards. André Philippon passed away in 2013 at the age of 75, leaving the property in the hands of his three children, Olivier, Béatrice, and Benoît.

The flagship grape variety of Domaine André Philippon is undoubtedly Chardonnay, a white grape variety intimately linked to the territory of Chablis, cultivated on soils with a high limestone and clay content of the Kimmeridgian formation, a soil type dating back to the final stage of the Jurassic period characterized by the presence of marine fossils. The vineyards are managed using highly sustainable practices to respect the health of the plants, soil, and the environment in general. In the cellar, fermentations take place in stainless steel tanks, the same containers used for the maturation phase, although a portion of the wine also ages in oak barrels.

The Chablis wines of Domaine André Philippon stand out for their fresh and mineral character, traits that allow these wines to evolve harmoniously over time. In fact, if properly stored, these Chablis wines can age for more than 10 years from the vintage, during which time the wine will tend to soften its characteristics and acquire additional complexity.
