The Barbaresco "Santo Stefano Albesani" by Castle of Neive embodies a charm and a unique and compelling story . It was 1964 when Giacomo, during the purchase of the Castle, decided to also buy the Cascina Santo Stefano which was previously exploited for hunting; a hill overgrown and full of brambles that Giacomo was able to transform with experience and foresight in one of the micro-areas with the highest quality of production of Barbaresco. A vineyard where vines are 30-40 years of average age, facing South and South-West, on a soil poor of calcareous marl. The Barbaresco "Santo Stefano Albesani" by Castle of Neive is profoundly different from Barbaresco "Gallina"; if "Gallina" has small red fruit notes balanced between wilted and delicate wood, the "Santo Stefano Albesani" remembers most varietal nuances, balsamic notes, violet, rose and spices on the finish. It's a Barbaresco where the tannin is present and feels, giving elegance and sophistication in a red that has a pleasant freshness able to perfectly balance the alcohol. A Barbaresco beauty and elegance; a Barbaresco from the infinite persistence.
