Girvan Distillery

Girvan Distillery is a Scottish production entity that gave the beginnings to one of the most well-known and appreciated gin brands in the world: Hendrick's Gin. Founded in 1963 in the South Ayrshire territory, specifically in the town of Girvan of the same name, this distillery represents one of Scotland's largest and most efficient whiskey production facilities. The property belongs to William Grant & Sons, an independent family-owned company that has been in the spirits business since 1887. Notably, it was visionary entrepreneur Charles Gordon, William Grant's great-grandson, who founded this distillery. In 1999 Girvan launched Hendrick's Gin, a premium quality gin that in a short time managed to win fans from every corner of the planet thanks to its modern and charming style. Creating the brand were American Steven Grasse and British Lesley Gracie, to whom William Grant & Sons gave the task of bringing an innovative distillate to life.

Dwelling on the Hendrick's Gin brand, Girvan Distillery's flagship product, this brand's gins are crafted from an infusion of selected raw materials, including juniper berries, cucumber, damask rose, chamomile flowers, yarrow, coriander, caraway seeds, elderflower, orange peel, angelica root, cubebe berries, lemon peel and iris root. Various ingredients, such as quinine, wormwood, blue lotus flower, or a selection of botanicals from the Amazon, can be added to the classic recipe so as to give rise to the different variations. The distillation process involves the use of two stills: a discontinuous pot still and a long-necked Carter Head still, the former to obtain a rich and intense distillate while the latter able to emphasize the more delicate character of the botanicals.

Girvan Distillery's Hendrick's brand gins express exotic scents and flavors, enhanced by a taste of surprising balance, complex and graceful at the same time. There are also several variants of the classic Hendick's, including the 'Lunar' Gin, the 'Orbium' Gin, the 'Neptunia' Gin, and the 'Limited Edition Amazonia' Gin.
