The Cabernet Franc from Castelvecchio is a red born close to the Isonzo, aged for two years in both French oak barrels and large casks. It presents inviting herbaceous hints of the Mediterranean scrub, sage and bay leaf, bell pepper and tomato, black pepper, cinnamon, and tobacco. The sip is fresh, particularly and pleasantly savory, with a long persistence and good taste-olfactory coherence, which also recalls tobacco and wet earth.

The Cabernet Franc from Castelvecchio is a red wine where the typical notes of the varietal, those herbaceous, gradually fade into ethereal and composite tones. A linear and classic label, where the starting grape is respected in its integrity, and the wood aging thus serves to enhance its personality without ever covering its soul. At the table, it finds its gastronomic consecration in pairing with land-based menus: try it with game-based recipes and you will be pleasantly surprised.

The Cabernet Franc comes from the grapes of the homonymous vine, cultivated in various areas within the National Park of the Carso. We find ourselves in a particular terroir, characterized by a subsoil of limestone rock and red soil rich in minerals, on which the typical Bora wind blows, responsible for the strong temperature fluctuations between day and night. The bunches, after the harvest phase, are destemmed, and the berries are gently pressed. The must obtained ferments spontaneously – thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts – in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then transferred for final aging in French or Californian oak barriques and in large Slavonian oak casks for a total of 24 months.

The Cabernet Franc Castelvecchio presents itself visually with a typically ruby color, characterized by a particular brightness. The typical herbaceous note of the varietal spreads to the nose insistently, enriched in its evolution by more tertiary touches. On the palate, it has an excellent structure, with a round and broad sip, concentrated and developed on a gentle tannic framework, of great softness. A generous label, mischievously captivating, capable, year after year, of winning the praise of the main national industry magazines.
