Fleurie Les Vins de Vicky 2019

The Fleurie Les Vins de Vicky is one of the most representative labels of the historic Château des Moriers winery. Thanks to a centuries-old knowledge of the terroir, the domaine has been able to collect over time a series of precious old vines capable of yielding grapes of particular intensity and aromatic concentration. The Gamay expresses itself with all the richness and proverbial floral finesse typical of the terroir, giving a harmonious and elegant wine, fragrant and fruity. It is a bottle with a convivial character, to be enjoyed young to best appreciate the liveliness of the varietal aromas. At the table, it is very ductile and goes well with pasta dishes with tasty sauces with roast or spit-roasted poultry.

The red Fleurie Les Vins de Vicky interprets a great Beaujolais terroir in the sign of finesse. Indeed, Château des Moriers owns a prized 9-hectare estate with vineyards in both Fleurie and Moulin-à-Vent, another area renowned for the quality of its wines. In these lands with a temperate climate and characterised by soils of granite origin, Gamay has been present for centuries and expresses itself so well that it is the symbolic vine of the region. The cuvée is the fruit of an assemblage of different vines, united by the age of more than 60 years, which produce few bunches per plant but are of high quality. Once the harvest is complete, the wine is vinified with carbonic maceration, according to local custom. The wine matures a few months in steel tanks before being bottled.

The Fleurie Les Vins de Vicky wine from Château des Moriers is the expression of historical plots of terroir in this true cru of the Beaujolais and offers aficionados the chance to discover the refined face of a great pure Gamay. It conquers the eye with a beautiful ruby red colour with luminous reflections and expresses a bouquet that brings to the fore the subtlety of flowery scents of violets and iris, combined with aromas of aromatic herbs and small red berries. Fragrant and rich, with fine, velvety tannins, it offers a taste experience of crisp, harmonious fruit. The finish is characterised by savoury sensations and clear freshness.
