Vintage Tunina Jermann 2017

Jermann's Vintage Tunina is a full-bodied, intense white wine, a legend of Friulian and national oenology. Made from indigenous white grapes, vinified in wood and steel, it is a fascinating bottle that evokes hints of wildflower honey, dried fruit and citrus fruits. The taste impact in terms of structure, smoothness and harmony is extraordinary, even more so when paired with fresh salmon stuffed with Parmesan cheese and artichokes!

VINTAGE TUNINA JERMANN 2017 DESCRIPTION

Vintage Tunina is part of the exclusive circle of names that have made the history of Italian white wine. This is due to the work in the vineyard and the passion of the Jermann family, as well as the extraordinary potential of the Friuli territories, specifically that of the Collio. Luigi Veronelli, one of the most important and historic figures in the field, already had a deep admiration for this bottle in 1976, nicknaming it the "Mennea of Italian wines." Fast and agile, just like the time it takes to drink it. It has challenged records and introduced movement and change in the world of Italian white wines. It is sometimes said that bottles reflect the producer and accurately convey all aspects. This label provides living proof as it faithfully depicts the spirit, soul, and passion of Silvio Jermann. Despite numerous accolades, the winery has continued to work to continually improve its creation, achieving great milestones and prestigious awards such as the "Wine of the Year" from Gambero Rosso in the 1990s and the Oscar of Wine from AIS. Therefore, it is an exemplary expression, a model wine that has launched the production of whites from Collio.

Jermann Vintage Tunina is a blend of the most famous white grapes from Friuli, capable of combining in a sip the finesse, aroma, and softness of Chardonnay and Sauvignon with the typical high quality of local varieties such as Malvasia Istriana, Ribolla Gialla, and Picolit. It is a sublime and elegant interpretation, described by Cesare Pillon as an extraordinary meditative wine, but in an active sense because it makes you ponder and dream. The vineyards, cultivated with the traditional “capuccina” system, extend over 3 hectares and take root in the typical Collio territory, known as ponca, composed of Eocene marl and sandstone. Vinification takes place in steel tanks while aging is carried out partly in 60-80 hl Austrian oak barrels.

Vintage Tunina wine presents itself with a straw-yellow robe edged with golden nuances. The nose is kaleidoscopic, lively, and intense, alternating bursts of exotic yellow fruit with sensations of field flowers, precious hints of saffron, and honey. Citrus essence, wafts of aromatic herbs, and mineral nuances follow. The sip has great personality and character, showing a vibrant freshness that guides all the taste components. The structure is solid and compact without being intrusive. Rich and seductive, it concludes with a long-lasting finish. Its great drinkability keeps you going to the very end!
