The Box Champagne 'Grand Cordon' Brut by Mumm is a box set designed to celebrate festive occasions with panache and elegance with Mumm Champagnes. This historic Maison based in Reims was founded way back in 1827 by the German-born brothers Jacobus, Gottlieb and Phillip Mumm, but it was with Georges Hermann Mumm, in 1876, that the extraordinary success of the winery began. In fact, in that year Georges registered the trademark 'Cordon Rouge', the red silk ribbon that has become a symbol of the Maison, paying homage to the high honour attached to the French Legion of Honour. Today, it is the 'Grand Cordon' Champagne that bears witness to the illustrious history of the winery and its red ribbon.

The Champagne Mumm Box 'Grand Cordon' Brut includes two bottles of Champagne 'Grand Cordon' Brut from the Maison G.H. Mumm, packaged in a beautiful red box signed by the winery itself. For the production of Champagne 'Grand Cordon' Brut, a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier grapes from more than 70 different crus scattered throughout Champagne is used. After harvesting, the grapes undergo soft pressing and subsequent alcoholic fermentation of the must at a controlled temperature. Once ready, the sparkling wine base is then bottled with the addition of the liqueur de tirage for re-fermentation in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method, combined with at least 30 months of ageing on the lees before final degorgement . The result is an iconic Champagne characterised by excellent balance and irresistible pleasantness, with light mineral sensations and marked freshness defining the taste development.
