BIANCO 'CÀ LUSTRA' ZANOVELLO 2023 DESCRIPTION

Colli Euganei Bianco 'Cà Lustra' Zanovello is a Veneto label that reflects the spirit of the Colli Euganei territory, a place where the Zanovello family has dedicated itself to agriculture since the 1960s. The production of this white wine is based on a blend of Tai Bianco, Garganega, Moscato Giallo Fior d'Arancio and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, each contributing specific characteristics to the blend. In particular, the Tai Bianco, the name given in the Veneto region to the Friulano grape variety, imparts unmistakable notes of bitter almond while the Garganega is appreciated for its freshness and minerality. On the other hand, the Moscato Giallo Fior d'Arancio and Sauvignon Blanc varieties lend an aromatic character to the wine, sweet in the case of Moscato and herbaceous in the case of Sauvignon.

Zanovello Colli Euganei Bianco 'Cà Lustra' comes from a blend of Tai Bianco, Garganega, Moscato Giallo Fior d'Arancio and Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown sustainably on volcanic soils rich in clay and limestone. Harvesting is done by hand and is followed by white vinification through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation using only indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. In the same type of wine containers, the mass is left to mature for several months until final bottling. Invasive clarification operations are then banned throughout the entire process, with sulphite additions being nil or minimal.

On visual inspection, Zanovello's Bianco dei Colli Euganei 'Cà Lustra' expresses a straw-yellow colour with golden highlights. The nose offers hints of sweet flowers and ripe yellow-fleshed fruit such as peach and apricot, combined with light hints of aromatic herbs and mineral nuances of flint. The taste is round, rich and of good complexity, at the same time fresh and delicate, with a finish of good persistence and pleasant drinkability.
