The Perrone family has been producing Moscato d'Asti on the splendid hills of Castiglione Tinella since the end of the 19th century. Today, after four generations, Stefano and his wife Giulia, who took over the reins of the winery in 1989, carry on the family tradition with passion and dedication, and with the specific objective of producing quality wines that are expressions of the individual vineyards.
The vineyards of the Elio Perrone winery are distributed over two different areas: one part surrounds the historic headquarters, on land dedicated to the cultivation of Moscato, while the rest is on Isola d'Asti, where Barbera plays the leading role. In the area of Mongovone in particular, you can find vines that are over 90 years old! The vines are planted on hilly terrain, in ideal sunshine conditions and at an altitude of 360 metres above sea level. Cesare Pavese dedicated some of his most beautiful works to this picturesque landscape, situated between the Langhe and Monferrato areas, made up of woods and vineyards.
The production of the Perrone winery is today divided between expressive Moscato d'Asti wines linked to Monferrato traditions and Barbera wines of great class. These are enological gems born from centuries-old expertise, and the dynamic and innovative spirit of Stefano and Giulia: a story of true love and fine wines.
