Cotes du Rhone Rouge 'Beatus Ille' Isabel Ferrando 2022

Isabel Ferrando's Cotes du Rhone Rouge 'Beatus Ille' is an immediate and fresh red wine, born among the red clays and pebbles of the Sorgues area. It is a classic 'GSM' blend, based on Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, responsible for the more classic style of Southern Rhône. The nose is dominated by red and black fruits, with lively and intriguing hints of Mediterranean scrub. Then emerge hints of cocoa and a mentholated freshness on the finish. Very balsamic on the sip, the melted tannins and intense warmth on the palate make it a seductive, yet very drinkable wine

COTES DU RHONE ROUGE 'BEATUS ILLE' ISABEL FERRANDO 2022 DESCRIPTION

Through its vivid fruitiness, the Cotes du Rhone Rouge 'Beatus Ille' from the French wine cellar Famille Isabel Ferrando expresses the liveliest spirit of Southern Rhône wines. The origins of the estate date back to the late 1990s, when Isabel Ferrando, then a bank executive, decided to change her life completely, dreaming of starting her own wine business in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape area. Having completed her studies at the oenological school in Carpentras and after much research, Isabel and her husband finally found the perfect estate in 2002, officially starting production two years later.

The Côtes du Rhône Rouge from the Isabel Ferrando family "Beatus Ille" is made from a blend of Grenache Noir (90%), Syrah (5%) and Cinsault (5%) from vines grown according to the rules of organic and biodynamic cultivation on soils with a high proportion of red clay and pebbles. Vinification is carried out according to the traditional red wine method with alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins. The wine is then aged for 6 months in cement vats, with no invasive intervention during the entire process.

The Cotes du Rhone 'Beatus Ille' Rouge from Famille Isabel Ferrando has an intense ruby red colour. The nose offers clear fruity notes of strawberry, blueberry, blackberry and blackcurrant, complemented by nuances of chocolate and a hint of menthol on the finish. On the palate, it is complex, warm and round, well supported by dark tannins that anticipate the fruity finish. This Cotes du Rhone Rouge is suitable for drinking young or a few years after the harvest, ideally in combination with mature cheese and various meat dishes.
