Château La Gardonne's Rosé de Provence "Bio Summertime" is made from Grenache and Syrah grapes grown organically on the limestone and clay soils of Provence, north-east of Toulon. The grapes are harvested at night, to take advantage of the freshness and process the grapes with a minimum risk of oxidation, in order to preserve the aromas. To achieve this, the grapes are gently pressed using a pneumatic champagne press, and fermented and matured in steel. In the glass, it offers intense notes of citrus fruit and white flowers, with an aftertaste of Mediterranean herbs. The palate is balanced, fresh and flavoursome
Chateau La Gardonne's Rosé de Provence 'Bio Summertime' is the perfect rosé wine for summer thanks to its light and refreshing taste. The Gardonne area, located in Provence, less than 30 kilometres north-east of the city of Toulon, has been linked to wine growing since the 1st century B.C., when the Romans spread vine cultivation in the area. In the 14th century, it was the Carthusian monks who gave a strong impetus to wine production, a tradition nurtured today by the Vranken Pommery Monopole group, a champenoise reality at the helm of Chateau La Gardonne.
The 'Bio Summertime' Chateau La Gardonne Rosé de Provence is made from a blend of Grenache and Syrah grapes, varieties cultivated according to the principles of organic farming in the Provence region. Here, the vines benefit from the calcareous and clayey matrix of the soils, which are also rich in schist and skeleton, as well as from the area's breezy Mediterranean climate. Following the harvest, which is carried out manually at night in order to enhance the aromatic component and acidity of the grapes, the bunches are transferred to the cellar for soft pressing using a pneumatic champenoise press, with the must thus obtained undergoing alcoholic fermentation at low temperature in stainless steel tanks. Also in stainless steel, the wine then matures for several months until final bottling.
The Rosé de Provence Chateau La Gardonne 'Bio Summertime' has a soft pink hue with pearl-coloured highlights. The nose shows intense and pleasant aromas of citrus fruits and white flowers, combined with nuances of Mediterranean herbs. The taste shows balance and citrine freshness, together with a savoury tone of good persistence that contributes to the wine's finesse.
