Semi-sparkling White Wine 'Zuzù' Franchina e Giarone

The Bianco Frizzante "Zuzù" of Franchina and Giarone is a fresh and pleasant semi-sparkling wine, refermented according to the ancestral method. The winery is the project of Luca Pizzetti, who decided to work in an artisanal way with the typical vines of Modena. The name "Zuzù" comes from the double addition of sugar, first frozen must then grape sugar, to activate the refermentation. The slight hints of fruit such as apple and lemon entice the sip that's fresh and savory, while the effervescence pleasantly tickles the palate

SEMI-SPARKLING WHITE WINE 'ZUZÙ' FRANCHINA E GIARONE DESCRIPTION

Franchina and Giarone's Bianco Frizzante "Zuzù" was born in Emilia, in the foothills of Modena within two farms that serve as the backdrop for Luca Pizzetti's project, which focuses on the enhancement of the territory. The products are the result of responsible work that aims to maintain the ecosystem surrounding the vineyard, so as to respect and support the natural development and growth phases of the plants and raw material.

The Trebbiano di Spagna and Trebbiano Modenese grapes in Franchina and Giarone's Bianco Frizzante "Zuzù" are born in typical continental climates, characterized by hot, sultry summers and harsh winters with sudden frosts. The soil is naturally unsuited for cultivation also because of the presence of clay that makes it particularly compact; responsible human intervention, however, has made possible a good yield of vines. The harvest is conducted manually and in the cellar the grapes undergo spontaneous alcoholic fermentation thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts; it re-ferments in the bottle according to the Ancestral Method.

Franchina and Giarone's Bianco Frizzante "Zuzù" is straw yellow in the glass with reflections tending to greenish with a delicate froth. The bouquet of aromas is reminiscent of white-fleshed fruit such as apple and white flowers such as jasmine, and there is a slight hint of lemon on the finish; on the palate there is a pleasant effervescence that finishes with softness and savoriness that entice drinking. In pairing it is recommended with vegetable dishes, sliced meats and light appetizers; also interesting with fresh cheeses. Excellent product that can accompany light meals in the company of lifelong friends sharing chats and memories of the past, while enjoying a product of rare quality.
