Le Quattro Volte is a small winery rooted in a land of living and unspoiled nature: the Calabria region. For a long time the tail-end of wine-making Italy, in recent years this region has emerged on the national wine scene for an unprecedented qualitative renaissance. Le Quattro Volte is one of the most active wineries in the province of Cosenza; a well-rounded farm producing oil and products of land. Recently founded near San Marco Argentano, it was born from the deep friendship between Daniela De Marco, Giampiero Ventura, the famous Cosenza singer-songwriter Brunori and Emilio di Cianni. The name, inspired by a song by Brunori Sas, celebrates the fraternal union among the 4 friends-founders.
The idea of founding the winery le Quattro Volte came from the desire to express in a sincere and spontaneous way the Calabrian nature of this beautiful wine-growing area, geographically located between the Sila and Pollino National Parks. The wines that are born from it are thus the witnesses of this new and sparkling path, captained by a group of friends who want to put in the foreground the land and the enhancement of this territory. The grape varieties are those typical of the northern Tyrrhenian regional area: Magliocco, Mantonico, Malvasia Bianca, Guarnaccino Nero and Greco Bianco, grown without the use of chemical and synthetic products (pesticides, herbicides...). Spontaneous fermentations with exclusively indigenous yeasts and short aging periods serve to make the most of the varietal and pure side of the grapes. The result is a line of juicy, fresh and dynamic wines with a unique and genuine simplicity that echo Giampiero and Daniela's philosophy of thought, but with the musical rhythm and poetic vision of the Cosenza singer-songwriter, Brunori.
Le Quattro Volte stands on an area characterized by rich Mediterranean scrub and a lot of biodiversity, among the hills located at between 200 and 400 meters above sea level in Ghiandaro, where micro-ventilation of the vineyards is continuous and fundamental for the quality of the grapes. It is a story of love and friendship that is woven behind the winery, fueled by a sincere and true love for this territory so biodiverse and stimulating, for too long in the hands of a political and economic regime based on cronyism, which today Emilio, Brunori, Daniela and Giampiero have managed to lift up!
