BAROLO RISERVA SORELLE DE NICOLA 2015 DESCRIPTION

The Barolo Riserva 'Vigna della Serra' from the Sorelle de Nicola - Feyles winery stands out as a Barolo of exceptional depth and refinement, an authentic expression of the territory of Monforte d’Alba. The grapes destined for this prestigious label come specifically from the Serra vineyard, included in the extensive Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva Perno. This MGA takes its name from the homonymous fraction of Perno, located on a ridge of a hill, where the combination of the unique microclimate and the ancient soils dating back to the Helvetian age allows the production of Barolo capable of combining power and elegance.

The Barolo Riserva Feyles - Sorelle de Nicola 'Vigna della Serra' is a pure Nebbiolo from a single vineyard of about one hectare planted in 2004 on steep hillside terrain. Here, the rows benefit from the clay-sandy soil matrix, the altitude of 380 meters above sea level, and the excellent southeast exposure. Once the grapes have reached full maturity, manual harvesting and traditional red vinification take place, with alcoholic fermentation occurring spontaneously in stainless steel tanks thanks to the intervention of indigenous yeasts alone, accompanied by a prolonged maceration on the skins. The subsequent aging phase takes place in Slavonian oak barrels of 30 and 50 hectoliters and lasts for 24 months before bottling and a further 2 years of rest in glass before final release to the market. Additionally, during processing, the wine is never subjected to filtration.

The 'Vigna della Serra' Barolo Riserva from Feyles - Sorelle de Nicola has a clear garnet red color with orange reflections. The broad olfactory profile is painted with aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry, rose, violet, licorice, and underbrush, adorned with elegant mineral and spicy undertones. The intense and structured gustatory development is guided by noble tannins leading to the very long persistence on the finish.
