Rozès is a historic Lusitanian winery that has been dedicated for almost two centuries to the production of high quality Port wine, always embracing a vision leaning towards innovation without turning its back on the region's consolidated tradition. The winery's headquarters are located in Vila Nova de Gaia, a municipality on the Douro river, on the opposite bank of the city of Porto, where some of Portugal's most prestigious wineries are based. Instead, the vineyard estate extends over 9 quintas, with the vinification centre located in Cambres, where Quinta de Monsul is located. The estate's history began in 1855, when Ostende Rozès, an important wine merchant in Bordeaux, began importing and selling Port wine. An important impetus for the growth of the winery's prestige came from his son Edmond, who in the first half of the 20th century created the Rozès Port brand by introducing the characteristic shape of the Port bottle, still in use in the area today. Since 1999, ownership has passed into the hands of the Vranken Pommery Monopole Group, continuing the bond that has linked Rozès to France since the winery's foundation.

The extensive vineyard park of Rozès is distributed between the territories of Cima Corgo, Douro Superior and Baixo Corgo, where the indigenous varieties Touriga Franca, Touriga Francesa, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Malvasia, Rabigato, Verdelho and Viosinho, among others, are grown. Most of the vines grow on terraced hillsides made from shale-rich soils, with part of the vineyards then being cultivated according to organic farming principles, demonstrating how environmental sustainability is an important value for the estate. As is customary, the oenological process for the production of Port wines involves the interruption of alcoholic fermentation through the addition of aqua-vitae, with the very long ageing taking place in wooden barrels of various sizes and types.

Among Rozès' most established brands is 'Dom Rozès', a prestigious selection that embodies the rich history of the winery. In addition to Dom Rozès, the estate's extensive production includes the more classic Port types, such as Vintage, Colheita, Tawny and Late Bottled Vintage, some of them elaborated through often decades of ageing.
