Porto 'Infanta Isabel' 10 Anni Dom Rozes

Infanta Isabel 10 years is a Tawny Port that matures for a decade in oak barrels in the historic cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia. Its grapes, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, come from the prized vineyards that terraced the course of the Douro river. Dedicated to the Infanta Isabel, historical daughter of the Portuguese sovereign, it is distinguished by its ruby colour with garnet hues, aromas of figs, nuts and sultanas, and a velvety, lingering taste, perfect with chocolate desserts

PORTO 'INFANTA ISABEL' 10 ANNI DOM ROZES DESCRIPTION

The Port Infanta Isabel 10 Anni from the Rozès winery is a liqueur wine with an enveloping and intense flavour, in true Port style. Founded in 1855 by Ostende Rozès, an important wine merchant in Bordeaux, the Rozès winery has established itself throughout its more than 150-year history for the high quality of its Port wines. Since 1999, ownership of the estate has passed to the Vranken Pommery Monopole Group, a well-known Champagne company that continues the innovative path that has always accompanied Rozès. Today, the winery's vineyard heritage is spread over 9 different quintas, with the vinification centre represented by Quinta de Monsul, an estate located in Cambres, in the Baixo Corgo region.

The Port Infanta Isabel 10 Years of Rozès is produced from only traditional red grapes, such as Tinta Barrica, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, grown in terraced vineyards planted on hilly shale soils. Following the harvest, the grapes are vinified in red with alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins, a process interrupted by the addition of aquavit, as is traditional for Port. This technique raises the alcohol content of the wine while retaining some of the must's natural sugars. The subsequent ageing period lasts more than 10 years, spent in wooden barrels in the cellar located in Vila Nova de Gaia.

The Infant Isabel Porto Rozès 10 Anni has a dark and consistent ruby red colour with garnet hues. Intense aromas of nuts, figs and sultanas emerge from the glass, accompanied by hints of orange peel. The development on the palate is soft, enveloping and complex, with a velvety tannic texture that combines with a pleasant freshness to support the important alcohol content and general structure.
