BARBARESCO 'BASARIN' ADRIANO MARCO E VITTORIO 2020 DESCRIPTION

Barbaresco 'Basarin' by Adriano Marco and Vittorio is a Piedmontese red wine with a distinctly territorial stamp. A genuine image of the renowned cru of origin, Basarin, the family's only vineyard located in the commune of Neive. A terroir recognised for the production of gentler, more immediate wines, thanks to altitudes of up to 350 metres, soils rich in grey tuffaceous marl and significant ventilation from the Tinella river. This label responds perfectly to these criteria, convincing the drinker with elegance and magnificent olfactory progression.

Adriano's 'Basarin' Barbaresco is made from Nebbiolo grapes cultivated in one of the most geographically suitable areas. The work in the vineyard is still carried out, from the 1990s to the present day, by members of the family, first the grandfather, then the brothers Marco and Vittorio - now at the helm of the winery - and in the future by their children, first and foremost Michela, who is young and already well integrated into this thriving family project. In the cellar, the grapes are carefully crushed and vinified in temperature-controlled steel tanks until racking. Maturation takes place for one year in steel and for another year in Slavonian oak casks of 30 to 50 hectolitres capacity.

With this Barbaresco 'Basarin', brothers Marco and Vittorio Adriano offer an interpretation of authentic and magnetic belonging to the terroir, all played out with remarkable drinkability and enjoyability. Garnet-coloured, with evolving orange textures, it is characterised by a broad and varied bouquet, where flowers are the undisputed protagonists with hints of dog rose and dried violet. Mentholated, balsamic and slightly spicy flashes gush from the glass with rhythm and cadence. The palate enters dense, powerful and decisive, pleasantly tannic and with a lively savoury verve on the finish.
