Ettore Germano's Barolo di Serralunga has a classic, austere style and, born from the union of several crus, embodies the traditional spirit of the Langhe. It vinifies in steel and matures for 24 months in large old oak barrels. On the nose it expresses hints of small berries, red flowers and violets and on the palate it is robust and structured, fresh and rightly tannic
Ettore Germano's Barolo di Serralunga is the most classic expression of the great red wine of the Langhe. Following the territory's most ancient custom, it comes from the blending of various vineyards and is aged in large oak barrels. The nose expresses floral nuances, aromas of small berries, with nuances of liquorice and spices. The palate has a good structure, with aromatic richness and complexity, accompanying the sip towards a refreshing finish, with great taste persistence.
The Barolo di Serralunga red wine is the fruit of the great experience and history of Ettore Germano's winery, which has been managing 6 hectares of vineyards on the Cerretta hill in Serralunga d'Alba since 1856, in one of the appellation's most prestigious areas. It is produced with Nebbiolo grapes from the famous Prapò, Cerretta and Lazzarito crus, all within the commune of Serralunga d'Alba. Fermentation takes place in steel, with maceration on the skins lasting about 3 weeks. The wine matures for 24 months in old 7-hectolitre oak barrels and completes the ageing process with a further 18 months in the bottle before release.
Barolo di Serralunga Ettore Germano is perfect for those who want to know the authentic and traditional face of this great Piedmontese red wine. Produced from a blend of different crus and aged in large wood, it expresses great balance and elegance. In the glass it is ruby red in colour with garnet hues. The nose opens on delicate floral aromas of violets, aromas of small berries, ripe cherries, liquorice root and faint hints of spice. The palate has good structure, with a tannic texture well integrated with the body of the wine, rich and complex aromas and a fresh, harmonious and very persistent finish.
