BAROLO RISERVA 'VIGNA ELENA' ELVIO COGNO 2017 DESCRIPTION

The Riserva "Vigna Elena" is a Barolo of absolute quality, which starts from the cru of Ravera, where the Nebbiolo grapes from which it is made grow, and reaches the top of the main world wine guides. A bottle that elegantly interprets one of Italy's most important territories from an enological point of view, that of the Langhe, giving us a red wine that is the fruit of the fruitful relationship between vine and territory. A classy label to uncork during the most important occasions, to indulge in a celebration in style.

This Barolo Riserva "Vigna Elena" comes from the pure use of the Nebbiolo grape, which has always been a symbol of quality Piedmontese viticulture. The grapes grow within the Ravera cru, at an elevation of about 380 meters above sea level, and are harvested during October. Once they reach the winemaking facilities of the Elvio Cogno winery, the grapes ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel, macerating for 30 days. This is followed by ageing, carried out in Slavonian oak barrels for 36 months and, after bottling, for another 12 months directly in the glass. The wine is ready to be bottled and marketed at the end of this period.

"Vigna Elena" is the name of a Barolo Riserva made by Elvio Cogno that, in the glass, develops a garnet red colour. The olfactory examination presents complex, deep aromas articulated on floral, balsamic and spicy notes, highlighting a light touch of tobacco. The palate is beautifully structured and swaddling, with a sip that warms the palate and the soul, thanks to a finely integrated tannic texture. A label that is one of the spearheads of the entire winery's production, and one that fits in at the top quality level of production.
