BOLGHERI ROSSO 'ASKA' BANFI 2021 DESCRIPTION

One of the most important and valuable areas in the whole of Tuscany, the Bolgheri area, finds vivid expression in this Banfi product. The Rosso "Aska" is a classic example of what two international grape varieties, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, can give within the Maremma terroir: a full, voluminous sip that goes hand in hand with elegant, well-presented aromas. A wine where every component is perfectly harmonised, endowed with a profile that is well suited to those dishes in which meat and game are protagonists.

The Banfi winery makes this Bolgheri Rosso DOC "Aska" from two international red grape varieties that find one of their most fruitful habitats in the Tuscan Maremma, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes, carefully selected during the harvest phase to guarantee only the best of the terroir of origin, ferment for about 12-14 days in steel vats, also completely carrying out malolactic fermentation. This is followed by the ageing phase, which lasts for 10 months in wooden barrels, after which bottling takes place.

This Bolgheri Rosso "Aska" presents itself in the glass with a hue that recalls the colour of ruby, crossed by slightly purplish nuances. The olfactory spectrum moves around complex and layered notes, ranging from red fruit to sweet spices, resulting from the period of maturation spent in wood. On the palate it is full-bodied, round, full, with a harmonious sip that satisfies the drinker with its own personality. A label with which Banfi elegantly interprets one of the most beautiful territories in the whole of Tuscany, giving us a red that can evolve for a few more years, thus acquiring further complexity.
