"Casa di Campagna' is a straightforward, rustic white from the Caserta area. The result of spontaneous vinification and several years' refinement in steel and in the bottle, it has a fresh, vibrant and agile mouthfeel, with pleasant freshness and savouriness, surrounded by notes of citrus fruits, aromatic herbs, hay, saline hints and Mediterranean scrub
Alepa's 'Casa di Campagna' White is a generous wine from Campania that brings fruit and sunshine. Alepa is the winery founded by Paola Riccio, who with passion and dedication has decided to enhance an area of Campania as vocated as the Casertano area, but which often takes second place to the more famous Taurasi or Taburno areas. Paola has been running 3 hectares in Caiazzo for over 30 years, always adopting a healthy and respectful agriculture, using only very small amounts of sulphur and copper, and turning her attention to the perfect ripeness of the grapes. In the cellar, the same credo is followed, working only with indigenous yeasts, more or less lengthy ageing depending on the type of liquid, and maceration on the skins, which also partly involves the white wines. Another aspect that enhances Paola's work is the safekeeping of local indigenous vines, including Pallagrello bianco and nero, alongside small quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The White 'Casa di Campagna' is made with Greco and Falanghina grapes harvested from the vineyards of Caiazzo, which rest on predominantly clayey soils. In the vineyard, as already mentioned, no chemical or synthetic products are used, making use only of sulphur and copper in homeopathic doses, and in the cellar, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and refinement of the liquid for 12 months in steel containers are carried out consistently. The wine does not undergo clarification or filtration before bottling.
Alepa White 'Casa di Campagna' presents itself in the goblet with an intense yellow colour that turns towards orange. Olfactory impact of great intensity, declined on orange peel, wild herbs and ripe yellow fruit. The palate is no less rich in terms of richness, proving to be filling and full-bodied, and dragging in a notable persistence, lengthened by a thick saline contribution. Frankly, not to be missed at this price.
