CHAMPAGNE BRUT NATURE 'TERRE DE VERTUS' LARMANDIER BERNIER 2017 DESCRIPTION

The Champagne Brut Nature "Terre de Vertus" from the Maison Larmandier Bernier is an unmetered vintage of great rigour and purity, expressing the best characteristics of the Chardonnay from the famous Premier Cru of Vertus, in the sign of complexity and elegance. A Champagne of great tension and energy, with a fresh and deep sip , accompanied by great aromatic richness and taste persistence.

The Brut Nature 'Terre de Vertus' comes from a selection of the best grapes from two small plots in the Vertus area, the lieux-dit Les Barillers and les Faucherets, which have always yielded special wines, characterised by extreme finesse and saltiness. It is a label that seeks to exalt precisely the special characteristics of this small terroir, as expressed in each different vintage. The vines are cultivated under biodynamic agriculture, are about 35 years old and are harvested by hand with selection of the best bunches in the vineyard. Fermentation takes place partly in wood and partly in steel, using only indigenous yeasts. The base wines mature for approximately one year on fine lees with periodic bâtonnage. The cuvée is created only from the wines of the two selected crus and only with vintage wines. The bottles rest for at least 4 years in the Maison's cellars for the second fermentation and ageing before manual dégorgement.

Champagne "Terre de Vertus" is a dosage zero Champagne for those seeking the emotion of a crisp and pure expression of terroir and vintage. A Champagne with character, which admits of no compromises. In the goblet it presents itself with a beautiful bright golden yellow colour. The perlage is particularly fine and persistent. The olfactory profile is refined, with aromas of white flowers, candied citrus peel, ripe fruit, pastry notes, iodine and mineral sensations. The attack on the palate is of great freshness, vibrant and dynamic, with deep and complex aromas that lengthen towards a savoury and persistent finish.
