Chianti Rufina Riserva "Nipozzano Vecchie Viti" by the famous Frescobaldi winery carries on the ancient family tradition, hinged on reserving a sort of "private collection" for each new born within the family branch. It comes from the oldest vines of Castello di Nipozzano, capable of expressing excellent aromatic complexity and a richness of fruit that is also confirmed on the palate, where the tannic texture is finely balanced, fitting well into the overall elegance of the label. Quality and price in a bottle you can never go wrong with.
Frescobaldi's Riserva "Nipozzano Vecchie Viti" is a Chianti Rufina that comes from a blend in which, alongside the reference grape, namely Sangiovese, we also find small percentages of Malvasia Nera, Colorino and Canaiolo. The vines are about 40 years old, and grow in the surroundings of Castello di Nipozzano, within a landscape setting that is nothing short of splendid. The must that is obtained from the gentle pressing of the grapes ferments in stainless steel containers, and the wine then, for the final aging portion, is transferred to oak barrels for a total of 24 months. At the end of this period, the Riserva is bottled, and before release it ages in the bottle for 3 months.
Chianti "Nipozzano Vecchie Viti" Riserva Frescobaldi presents itself in the glass with a ruby red color endowed with a good visual impact. The nose opens on several spicy notes, which alternate during the development of the olfactory analysis with fruity references. The sip is certainly of impact, from which emerges a sapid vein endowed with excellent palatal persistence. A label that, vintage after vintage, is always confirmed with interested scores on some of the most renowned magazines in the sector.
