Villa Diamante's Fiano ‘Vigna Congregazione’ Vecchie Viti is an artisanal white wine, born from Antoine Gaita's passion for Fiano. FIANO VECCHIE VITI VIGNA CONGREGAZIONE VILLA DIAMANTE 2019 DESCRIPTION

The Fiano Vigne Vecchie 'Vigna della Congregazione' represents one of the latest novelties of the Irpinian Villa Diamante reality, a Fiano of exquisite class and elegance, deriving from a selection of the oldest vines present within the Vigna della Congregazione. This is a wine produced in very small numbers, subjected to a long ageing process that reveals the extraordinary ageing capacity of Fiano, a noble grape variety intimately linked to the winemaking tradition of Irpinia. The vineyard's name derives from the fact that this land was once owned by the Church.

Vigna della Congregazione' Fiano Villa Diamante Vecchie Vigne is a pure expression of Fiano grapes grown in a single vineyard in the commune of Montefredane. Here, the vines benefit from the altitude of 430 metres above sea level and the clayey, marly-calcareous matrix of the soil, as well as the cool northern exposure. The grapes destined for this label come from a selection of the oldest vines in the parcel, with an age of more than 40 years. Agronomic management is based on organic farming principles, while the harvest is carried out entirely by hand at a slightly late stage. In the cellar, the grapes undergo soft pressing, followed by alcoholic fermentation of the must in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Also in stainless steel, and partly in the bottle, is the long ageing process of several years that precedes its definitive release on the market.

In the glass, Villa Diamante's Fiano 'Vigna della Congregazione' Vigne Vecchie shows a brilliant straw yellow colour with golden reflections. The elegant olfactory panorama is described by sensations of pineapple, nuts and hazelnuts that merge with a definite mineral tone of flint and deep hints of sweet spices. The sip is ample and elegant, soft and enveloping, with a fresh finish of long mineral persistence.
