LACRIMA DI MORRO D'ALBA 'ROSAE' CASALFARNETO 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Lacrima di Morro d'Alba 'Rosae' from the Marche winery Casalfarneto is a faithful interpretation of the Lacrima grape variety, characterised by typical aromas of berries and flowers. This bottle belongs to the 'La Donna di Bacco' collection, a fine selection of wines designed for the restaurant and wine bar, reflecting Casalfarneto's passion and consolidated know-how .

The 'Rosae' Casalfarneto Lacrima di Morro d'Alba is produced with only Lacrima grapes cultivated in the hinterland of Ancona on medium-textured soils tending to loose, characterised by an excellent southeastern exposure. Harvesting is carried out respecting the optimal ripening time of the grapes, which are then transferred to the winery and vinified through destemming and alcoholic fermentation accompanied by just 6 days of maceration on the skins in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature of 25 °C. Also in stainless steel, the wine matures for 5 months and after a further 2 months of bottle ageing is finally ready for release.

The Lacrima di Morro d'Alba 'Rosae' from the Casalfarneto winery has a purplish-red colour with violet hues. The aromatic range opens on floral hints of rose and violet and vivid notes of berries such as blackberry, sensations supported by a slight undertone of black pepper. The palate is of considerable intensity, with a marked freshness and delicate tannin contributing to the great drinkability of the flavour. The closure, elegant and persistent, is characterised by clear fruity and floral returns. The ideal pairing for this Lacrima di Morro d'Alba is with earthy hors d'oeuvres, platters of medium-aged cheeses and cured meats, first courses dressed with tomato or white meat dishes.
