Cinnamon is one of the world's most popular spices, widely used in different cultures in the preparation of sweets as well as some savoury dishes. This spice, which originates from Sri Lanka, was used in ancient times by the Ancient Egyptians in embalming processes and is mentioned in the Greek and Latin worlds and even in the Bible, testifying to its widespread use already in antiquity. In addition to culinary purposes, cinnamon was also used in medicine as a powerful antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic. Spirito Reale's Cinnamon Liqueur is dark amber in colour. The nose perceives fascinating and sweet spicy scents, in which the intensely aromatic scent of cinnamon dominates. The taste is consistent, characterised by sweet and spicy tones that anticipate theenveloping aromatic aftertaste. Although it is exceptional served neat cold or with a few cubes of ice, this liqueur is also ideal when mixed with apple juice to create an original, thirst-quenching drink, in which the characteristic spicy scent of cinnamon blends perfectly with the acidity and fragrance of the apple.
