Musso winery's Nebbiolo is an elegant and delicate red wine that releases delicate notes of red fruits, green pepper and cinnamon on the nose. With an extremely balanced organoleptic profile, its dry, deep and pleasantly tannic sip makes it an excellent wine to pair with meat dishes
Langhe Nebbiolo from Piedmont's Musso estate amazes with its exceptional versatility and pleasantness, as well as significant typicality. About half of the vineyard area owned by the Musso family is reserved for Nebbiolo, the most celebrated red grape variety in the Langhe region. Most of the Nebbiolo grapes grown by the winery are destined for Barbaresco, the centerpiece of production, with a small percentage being used precisely in the making of Langhe Nebbiolo, prized for its greater accessibility and immediacy.
Musso Langhe Nebbiolo is made from only grapes of the black grape variety of the same name grown on compact, mainly calcareous soils, characterized by a few layers of clay. Exposure is southeast while the altitude is found to be between 230 and 260 meters above sea level. The grapes, harvested by hand in small baskets, are stripped of their stems and softly crushed, with the resulting must fermenting in stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins for 12-13 days, during which periodic pumping over is carried out to encourage the extraction of the noblest compounds. After racking, the mass is racked into large Slavonian oak barrels for maturation of about 7-8 months, which precedes bottling and a further 5-6 months in glass before release.
Musso Nebbiolo delle Langhe possesses a deep garnet red hue. The nose expresses lively and pleasant aromas of red fruits and flowers, combined with spicy sensations reminiscent of pepper and cinnamon. Dry and flavorful palate, supported by excellent freshness and pleasantly pronounced tannins. The finish insists on perceptions of red fruits and spices consistent with the nose.
