"Perbacco" is a red wine from the historic Langa winery Vietti that encapsulates different souls, those of the various territories from which the Nebbiolo grapes classified to produce Barolo are derived. In fact, the king of Piedmont wines comes, by choice that the winery makes, from the different plots vinified individually and that best express the vintage. The other liquids that are dormant in the barrels are used with a view to other different expressions. In search of the most consistent expressiveness!
The vineyards Nebbiolo have an average of 35 years of age and come from different vineyards, some classified as Barolo Cru: Bricco Boschis, Liste, Brunella, Pernano, Crocetta, Fossati, Ravera and Novello, the same ones from which Barolo Castiglione is made. Alcoholic fermentation lasts 3-4 weeks in temperature-controlled stainless steel. Afterwards, the wines are allowed to rest, again separately, in barriques and large barrels where they undergo malolactic fermentation. Specifically, only some batches obtained from the Cru age inside barriques, to then terminate this phase in large barrels for 24 months, the rest only in large casks, again for the same period. At this point, the winery determines which wine will be blended in steel to give birth to Nebbiolo "Perbacco." The rest will continue ageing.
Once poured into the glass, "Perbacco" presents a deep ruby red colour to the eye, with garnet tendencies. The nose reveals fruity, mentholated, oriental spice scents and hints of red rose and black tea. On the palate, a subtle tannin emerges, with a delicate bite, thanks in part to the two-month stay in steel after blending. It continues elegantly, is a wine of beautiful intensity and closes with some persistence. The most prized Langhe territory at your sip's reach!
