The "Siccagno" is an authentic expression of Nero d'Avola, born from 40-year-old vines, from a long maceration on the skins in cement tanks and from a maturation of 16 months in oak barrels. It is intense, spicy, dry, warm, and enveloping, animated by notes of plum, blackberry, myrtle, and licorice

The Nero d'Avola “Siccagno” by Arianna Occhipinti is a deep and evocative red, sensual expression of the famous Sicilian grape. The Siccagno is one of those wines that never disappoints expectations in any vintage, a masterpiece that faithfully tells the story of Vittoria and its Nero d'Avola, so different in its expressiveness compared to those produced in North-Western Sicily. Behind this little gem is the work of Arianna Occhipinti, one of the women in wine who, thanks to her hard work and perseverance, has managed to achieve the status of an absolute reference point for enthusiasts over the years. A family tradition that has seen Arianna follow in the footsteps of her uncle Giusto (co-founder of the Cos winery) and that has led her, hectare by hectare, to reach the current vineyard area, which consists of about 27 hectares, cultivated with local typical grape varieties such as Nero D'Avola, Frappato, Albanello, and Zibibbo, grown without any chemical or synthetic substances interfering with the vitality of the soil and plants. Essential bottles.

The wine “Siccagno” is an expression of pure Nero d'Avolain purity, obtained from 40-year-old vines that rest on sandy and calcareous soils. In the vineyard, as already mentioned, the dictates of organic farming are followed, excluding the use of any chemical or synthetic substances. In the winery, the same approach is taken, with spontaneous alcoholic fermentation occurring in cement tanks and the liquid aging for 16 months in Slavonian oak barrels followed by 6 months in bottle. The wine undergoes neither clarification nor filtration.

The red “Siccagno” presents itself in the glass with a dark and vibrant ruby hue. A broad nose that blends warmth and finesse, unfolding in succession hints of plum, carob, graphite, and licorice. The tasting also brings a joyful brightness, making it an extraordinary gastronomic companion, so versatile that it finds its fulfillment even with particularly flavorful fish preparations. Red from the sea and of the sea.
