The Panettone ReLanghe and Moscato I Vignaioli di Santo Stefano set from the Langa-based company Ceretto is a set that celebrates different facets of Moscato d'Asti DOCG, the most important sweet wine in all of Piedmont. Written testimonies report that Moscato Bianco has been cultivated in the province of Asti, specifically in the Canelli area, since at least the 14th century, when it was known by the name Muscatellum vinum. The origin of the word Muscatellum is probably to be found in the term 'muscum', i.e. 'musk', a reference to the characteristic scent of grapes and wine that is reminiscent of that of white musk, which is particularly prized in the perfumery sector.
The Moscato I Vignaioli di Santo Stefano and Panettone ReLanghe set includes a bottle of Ceretto's Moscato d'Asti 'I Vignaioli di Santo Stefano' and a 1 kg panettone made with Moscato d'Asti DOCG wine covered with IGP Piedmont hazelnut icing, without citrus peel. The Moscato d'Asti Ceretto 'I Vignaioli di Santo Stefano' was born from the collaboration between the Ceretto family, a well-known name in the Langa wine scene, and four winemakers from the Santo Stefano Belbo area: Giancarlo Scavino, Sergio Santi, Mario Monti and Piero Gatti. Today, it is only the Ceretto and Scavino families that carry on the project, determined to produce a high quality Moscato d'Asti that reflects the characteristics of the territory. As for ReLanghe, it is a company specialised in confectionary preparations based on IGP Piedmont hazelnuts, founded in 1994 by the Ceretto family. The proposed panettone, the result of a skilful combination of selected ingredients, stands out as much for the crunchiness and aromaticity of the hazelnuts used as for the recognisable fragrance of Moscato.
The Panettone ReLanghe and Moscato I Vignaioli di Santo Stefano Ceretto is an unmissable pairing for those who want to enrich their festivities with the characteristic aromas of Moscato.
