Pinot Nero Tenuta Belvedere 2020

Tenuta Belvedere winery's Pinot Nero is an elegant and structured red wine produced in Montecalvo Versiggia, in the Oltrepò Pavese region, where the plains begin to ripple, creating verdant hills and reliefs. This label is made from pure Pinot Noir grapes from vines raised using the espalier method with guyot pruning, characterized by perfectly draining soils with clayey-calcareous soils of marine origin. The winery is a family-run business, owning about 9 hectares under vine, managed by Gianluca Cabrini, who has transformed himself from a car salesman to a promising winemaker capable of making wines that are very expressive of typical terroir.

Tenuta Belvedere's Pinot Noir is made from carefully selected grapes harvested by hand in late September. The clusters, brought to the winery, are destemmed and gently crushed and then undergo alcoholic fermentation, using only indigenous yeasts, in concrete tanks with a maceration on the skins of about 12 days. This is followed by racking with pressing of the pomace, after which the wine is aged in concrete barrels for at least 18 months before being bottled and finally ready for release.

Tenuta Belvedere's Pinot Noir presents a beautiful bright ruby red colour to the eye. Sensations of red fruits and small berries appear on the nose, including cherry, currant, plum and raspberry, floral notes of rose, wildflowers and herbs, spicy hints of fresh spices, finishing with slight earthy, balsamic and underbrush hints. In the mouth, it is successful, crisp alive and energetic, characterized by a great freshness that veers to savoury tones and delicate tannins.
