RIOJA CRIANZA SEÑORIO DE LIBRARES 2021 DESCRIPTION

The Rioja Crianza Señorio de Librares presents itself as a fruity and spicy red wine, qualities derived from the grape varieties in the blend and from the long oak aging. Located in the small village of El Villar de Arnedo, within the area of Rioja Baja, the Señorio de Librares winery is led by sisters Clara and Patricia Espinosa, the latest in a long line of excellent winemakers and wine producers. In fact, the sisters' great-great-grandfather, Pedro Espinosa, was awarded the gold medal for his wines at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878.

The Señorio de Librares Rioja Crianza originates from a blend of Tempranillo (90%) and Garnacha Tinta (10%) grapes, cultivated using sustainable practices inspired by organic agriculture. After the harvest, the grapes are transferred to the winery and undergo red vinification through controlled temperature alcoholic fermentation for about 10-15 days, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. The subsequent aging period lasts for 12 months and takes place in a combination of French and American oak barrels.

Visually, the Rioja Crianza from Señorio de Librares reveals a dark and intense garnet red color. The aromatic range extends to captivating scents of jammy red fruits and tobacco, with sweet notes of vanilla and coconut. Balanced and harmonious on the palate, with a full and enveloping progression supported by velvety tannins, the intense finish insists on persistent fruity and spicy sensations consistent with the nose. The producer's recommendation is to pair this Rioja Crianza with medium to long-aged cheeses, grilled sausages, marinated or grilled meats, and even main courses based on fatty and flavorful fish.

When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied red wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can let it rest in the cellar 2-3 years
