The "Primo Fuoco" is a Tuscan rosé wine of great authenticity and purity, the result of spontaneous vinification and aging in large terracotta amphorae, handmade with local red clay, called "terra rossa". It expresses a very fine and fragrant aromatic set, developed on citrus, fruity and floral notes, with pleasant rustic accents of earth and undergrowth. On the palate it shows an excellent smoothness and a flickering freshness, with a pleasant savory vein

Fattoria di Sammontana presents the Rosato "Primo Fuoco", a Tuscan interpretation of Merlot vinified in amphora capable of soothing the soul with its gracefulness and smoothness. Officially founded in 1867, this Florentine winery was once owned by the renowned Medici family, who donated it to the canons of San Lorenzo. The priests, among other things, built a majestic kiln for the production of vases and other terracotta materials. With the expression "primo fuoco" (first fire), the potters indicate the initial firing of the clay that leads to the formation of terracotta. This name was chosen in reference to the fact that this rosé wine is made in a large handmade amphora using a local type of red clay known as "terra rossa".
The Tuscan Rosé "Primo Fuoco" by Fattoria di Sammontana is a 100% Merlot grown in a half-hectare vineyard with 20-year-old vines. Agronomic management follows the principles of certified organic and biodynamic agriculture. Manual harvesting is followed by soft pressing of the grapes and alcoholic fermentation operated exclusively by indigenous yeasts. The mass is then elevated for 6 months in 500-litre terracotta amphorae, after which the liquid is bottled without prior filtration.
Fattoria di Sammontana "Primo Fuoco" Rosato has a delicate pale pink colour. Fragrant and juicy hints of small red fruit, cherry and aromatic herbs, tempered by mineral and pleasantly rustic hints. The taste is pure and soft, fresh and highly dynamic, strengthened by the pleasant and marked savoury imprint. A refined expression of Merlot vinified in rosé and worked in amphora, ideal to enjoy on hot summer days.
