The Sapaio is a flagship red wine full-bodied and elegant with a high profile, aged for 18 months in barrique. It exudes aromas of berries, humus and spices of various kinds and has a virile, powerful, crisp, round and persistent taste, animated by good freshness and impeccable tannic vibrations
Sapaio's Bolgheri Rosso Superiore is the great and powerful interpretation of Bolgheri by Podere Sapaio, a young and lively winery that has made innovation, connection to the terroir and experimentation its strong points. In fact, Bolgheri Rosso Superiore was born from a careful new decoding of the terroir and from years of study and experimentation with a high technical profile to arrive today at positioning itself, with its virility and gustatory longevity, in the range of the greatest Bolgheri wines.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are the grapes that make up the DNA of Bolgheri Rosso Superiore Sapaio. They are harvested and selected by hand on the winery's 25 hectares of vineyards, rich in clay and sand, then placed to ferment in steel tanks with long maceration of the pomace. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, where the wine ages for 18 months. Another 8 to 10 months of bottle ageing completes the production process and allows the wine to reach its maximum expression.
The Bolgheri Rosso Superiore Sapaio has an intense chromatic appearance: ruby with purple highlights. On the nose come, without hesitation, the typical scents of the terroir: humus, oregano, tea, mineral reflexes, and berries. The taste is powerful and virile, animated by a good freshness and pleasant tannic vibrations, with a long juicy finish and smoky notes. Body, character, cleanliness and strong connection with the terroir make Bolgheri Rosso Superiore Sapaio a great companion for the table.
