ROSSO DI VALTELLINA AR.PE.PE. 2022 DESCRIPTION

Rosso di Valtellina Ar.Pe.Pe. is a label created during the 2003 harvest, a particularly hot and dry year. Not all the grapes had the characteristics to produce wines intended for long ageing, so the idea was born to also start making a more simple, young and fragrant wine that could give immediate pleasure from the start. Today it is one of the most successful bottles, thanks in part to its excellent pliability in pairings. It goes very well at the table with pasta with meat sauce, roast or spit-roasted poultry.

Ar.Pe.Pe.'s Valtellina Rosso is the fruit of a winery that has innovated the face of valley wines by focusing on absolute quality. It quickly established itself among enthusiasts thanks to a range of high-level labels that have enhanced the Nebbiolo of the Alpine area, consecrating it among the excellences of our peninsula. The label originates from the winery's vineyards located in a hilly area at an altitude between 350 and 600 meters above sea level, facing southeast. The poor, stony soils and the cool climate with good temperature ranges allow excellent grapes ripening. Harvesting takes place in the first decade of October, and the grapes are fermented in 50-hectoliter wooden vats, with a long maceration on the skins. The wine matures for 5 months in 50-hectoliter barrels and concrete tanks before completing ageing with several months in the bottle.

Rosso di Valtellina Ar.Pe.Pe. is a version of the area's most classic wine, highlighting the finesse and elegance of a splendid mountain Nebbiolo and the stony and mineral character of a magnificent terroir that has been devoted to the production of great reds for centuries. In the goblet, it is bright and clear ruby in colour. The olfactory picture is characterized by fragrant aromas of raspberry, morello cherry, red currant, violet nuances and delicately spiced hints. Its medium structure and intensity have dense but velvety tannins and a slightly fruity and austere palate, closing on savoury sensations and pleasant freshness.

When to open
To enjoy it at its best, we recommend you to let the wine 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied red wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can easily leave it in you cellar for 3-4 years
