Rosé Villa Sparina 2023

Villa Sparina's Rosé is a fresh, velvety wine produced in the Monferrato Astigiano from Barbera and Merlot grapes. In the glass, it has a pale pink colour and, on the nose, releases notes of red fruits, citrus aromas, mineral hints and hints of spice. After vinification in stainless steel and bottling, this rosé wine is perfect with raw fish and fresh, lightly matured cheeses

ROSÉ VILLA SPARINA 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Rosé of the Villa Sparina estate was born in Basso Piemonte from the encounter between the indigenous Barbera grape variety and the international Merlot grape, a pairing that gives rise to a refreshing and fragrant rosé wine. The Villa Sparina estate encompasses no less than 100 hectares, 70 of which are reserved for vineyards, which in turn are dedicated to traditional varieties such as Cortese and Barbera, as well as, to a lesser extent, international varieties such as Merlot. The wines are then marketed in a bottle with a distinctive and recognisable shape, which has become an integral part of the Villa Sparina identity, developed together with designer Giacomo Bersanetti by drawing inspiration from an ancient vase found during excavations for the renovation of the cellar.

Villa Sparina Rosé consists of a blend of Barbera (60%) and Merlot (40%) grapes, varieties cultivated on soils with a predominantly clayey-calcareous composition, exposed mainly to the southwest and located at an altitude between 350 and 400 metres above sea level. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately transported to the cellar, where the rosé vinification takes place with very brief contact between the must and the skins, followed by alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The ageing period, which lasts a few months, also takes place in stainless steel, in order to preserve the wine's freshness and varietal aromas as much as possible.

To the eye, Villa Sparina's Rosé displays a soft pink hue. The nose offers hints of fresh fruit such as strawberry, raspberry, white peach and orange, enriched by distinctive notes of white pepper and flint. In the mouth, it is fresh and harmonious, of exceptional grace and élan, with a velvety fruity finish.
