'RUGGINE' CLARA MARCELLI 2018 DESCRIPTION

Clara Marcelli's "Ruggine" is a rich and iridescent expression of Bordò, a clone of Grenache. A real jewel, to say the least, this red wine from the Marche region is the flagship wine of the winery founded in 1992 by Emanuele and Daniele Colletta. The two had a very well-defined aim of restoring expressions of high territorial identity. The decision to adopt organic farming in the vineyard was just as decisive as the decision to seek the advice of Marco Casolanetti, owner of Oasi degli Angeli, who, mindful of his experience with his 'Kupra', decided to interpret in a similar manner this vine of immense potential. The result speaks, in the glass, with important weight and concentration but at the same time with the facets of a true champion. A gem, worth storing in your cellar!

The "Ruggine" Clara Marcelli red is made from 100% Bordò, a particular local clone of Grenache. The vineyards, which stand at an altitude of around 260 metres, enjoy a perfect microclimate, regulated by modulated temperature changes. The plants grow free of any chemical or synthetic substances, and are harvested manually. In the cellar, after sorting and destemming, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel containers and the liquid is aged for 5 years in steel, wood and bottle.

The "Ruggine" by Clara Marcelli appears in the glass with an intense garnet red colour. A nose of great complexity and richness, embroidered, which juggles hints of ripe fruit, such as cherry and morello cherry, spices, and wild herbs among which rhubarb, laurel and cinchona stand out clearly. Almost lysergic to the nose, it is however on tasting that the liquid reveals the fabric of the sample, where it combines breadth, juiciness and very fine tannic grain. An overwhelming experience.
