Pieropan's "La Rocca" is one of the richest, most intense and complex expressions of Soave: it is a full-bodied and structured white wine, vinified and aged for 12 months in large barrels, with aromas of ripe tropical fruit and vanilla and a round, enveloping, mineral and very long taste

Pieropan's Soave Classico 'La Rocca' was born in Veneto, specifically in Soave in the province of Verona. At the beginning of the 20th century, Leonildo Pieropan bought and gave new destination to a family estate, called the "Calvarino". His sons Gustavo and Fausto decided to turn their father's estate into a real wine business, starting a small production. In 1966, his nephew Leonildo completed the School of Oenology in Conegliano and decided to implement important changes in the family business with modern technologies, experiments in the vineyard and innovative methods derived from various experiences abroad. With his wife Teresita, he crowned his dream of creating an important and respected business, exporting the production of Soave in Italy and abroad. Today, the fourth generation with Andrea and Dario carries on the family tradition, looking to the future with planning.
The vineyards of Pieropan's Soave Classico "La Rocca" grow on soils mainly composed of limestone and clay for a structured end product with character, and the vines are between 10 and 50 years old. The climate is characterised by cold winters, often with heavy snowfall and frost; summers are hot, sunny and sultry, often with significant temperature swings between day and night for grapes that are fully ripe at harvest time. The grapes are harvested manually; in the cellar, the grapes are softly pressed and the alcoholic fermentation takes place in wood. This is followed by ageing in tonneaux and large casks for 12 months.
To the eye, Pieropan's Soave Classico "La Rocca" is an intense golden yellow with brilliant reflections. The bouquet of aromas is broad and varied, reminiscent of ripe tropical fruit, quince and almond, combined with jasmine flowers, wisteria and spicy notes of vanilla; on the palate it is round, enveloping and intense with a long, mineral and fresh finish that lures you in glass after glass. It pairs perfectly with sushi and sashimi dishes, smoked salmon and steamed shellfish; also interesting with light fried and grilled fish. Suitable for sharing on the Christmas Eve table, to sip a product that is the result of conscious and careful production.
