SPARKLING BRUT ROSÈ CASTELLO DI MELETO 2019 (PACKAGING) DESCRIPTION

The Spumante Metodo Classico Brut Rosé of the Tuscan winery Castello di Meleto is a sparkling wine produced from a single famous black grape variety that stands out for its fragrant fruit and bakery aromas. The vision that guides the production of Castello di Meleto is based on respect for the environment across the board, an objective pursued primarily by safeguarding the biodiversity that animates the estate. In fact, the winery's property extends over more than 1,000 hectares, 800 of which are dedicated to woodland and the remainder divided between olive groves, vineyards and bee hives.

Castello di Meleto Metodo Classico Rosé Brut Spumante is made from the grapes of a single black grape variety, planted between 2000 and 2010. Harvesting takes place towards the end of August and the bunches are then transferred to the cellar, where they are first subjected to sudden cooling and then to soft pressing, with the very short maceration taking place directly in the press. This is followed by 2-3 days of decanting of the must and then alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Once ready, the sparkling wine base is bottled with the addition of draught syrup for re-fermentation in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, associated with at least 3 years of resting on the lees. The sparkling wine finally undergoes the disgorging operation and subsequent topping up with the dosing syrup.

Castello di Meleto's Rosé Metodo Classico Spumante Brut has a pale pink colour with a dense and persistent effervescence. The nose expands on fruity and citrus notes of peach, strawberry and lemon, enhanced by hints of bread crust and yeast. The taste is complex and sophisticated, endowed with a pleasant freshness enhanced by the subtle, soft bubbles.
