La Distesa's ‘Ventitrè’ is a ‘survivor’ wine, made from white grapes that have survived fungal diseases. Strong, tenacious, immediate and very pleasant to drink, it is fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and in contact, for a very short time, with its skins. It is a very fresh wine with intensely citrusy hints of lemon and citron, perfect with good grilled fish
The Bianco 'Ventitrè' from the artisanal estate La Distesa is a peculiar expression of a very difficult vintage, characterized by abundant rainfall that resulted in the widespread development of fungal diseases in the vineyards. Because of these difficulties, La Distesa winery decided to release only two labels, a white wine and a red wine, obtained from a blend of all surviving grapes. The white varieties grown by the estate, located in Cupramontana, in the province of Ancona, include Trebbiano, Malvasia, Pecorino and especially Verdicchio. These grapes are grown using a sustainable approach and vinified through non-invasive winemaking practices.
Distesa 'Ventitrè' Bianco is derived from a blend of white grapes grown in a certified organic system, without the use of synthetic chemicals, on clay-limestone matrix soils. Harvesting is done by hand and is followed by soft pressing of the grapes. The must thus obtained undergoes spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks thanks only to the intervention of the yeasts naturally present on the grapes and in the winemaking environment, accompanied by a very brief pellicular maceration. Along the entire production process, clarification and filtration operations are then excluded.
Bianco 'Ventitrè' La Distesa has a straw-yellow hue with greenish reflections. The aromatic bouquet expresses intense hints of citrus fruits, such as lemon and citron, accompanied by floral hints of hawthorn and broom, all complemented by pleasant hints of yellow-fleshed fruit. Fresh and immediate entry on the palate, with a very pleasant drinkability that rests on a dynamic and vibrant finish that invites you to return to the glass.
