Located in the commune of Trigny, within the Montagne de Reims area, the Maxime Blin sparkling wine reality is the protagonist of a remarkable production that is the result of a vision focused on sustainability. For three generations, the Blin family has been at the helm of this winery, which has the status of Récoltant Manipulant, i.e. it only makes wine from grapes that it cultivates. In particular, the estate's origins date back to the immediate post-World War II period, when Juliette and Robert enterprisingly planted the first vines. The baton was then passed on to Gilles Blin, who, with the help of his wife Madeleine, had the merit of expanding and elevating the activity and perfecting the business strategy. Finally, since 2015, Maxime Blin has been at the helm of the winery, with the support of his wife Claire, who is also a descendant of a family of winemakers..
In his vineyards, entirely within the Trigny area, producer Maxime Blin grows the three classic Champagne grape varieties, namely Pinot Noir, Meunier and, to a lesser extent, Chardonnay. The vines, which are organically certified, are planted on hilly soils consisting of sand, clay and limestone, and benefit from an excellent south and south-east exposure. Vinification involves an initial soft pressing of the grapes using a Coquard press, followed by alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with complete malolactic fermentation also taking place. Once the cuvée has been prepared, bottle fermentation according to the Champenoise Method then takes place, associated with long ageing on the lees. The choice of the final dosage is then adapted to the characteristics of the Champagne in question.
The Maxime Blin cellar's production is divided into two main collections: 'Les Fondamentales', comprising the historic cuvées that fully reflect the Blin family's style while maintaining a focus on a specific grape variety, and 'Les Poétiques', a selection that brings together Champagnes produced in limited editions, the result of an experimental approach.
