The Kmetija Slavček, which is located in Potok, in Slovenia, is very old, perhaps one of the oldest in the area. If it is, in fact, trace old documents in the second half of 1700. Currently the owners are Frank and Alenka Vodopivec, a very common surname in the area. The two cultivated with passion and dedication a vineyard of 6 hectares, fully immersed in the dense forests of the region and surrounded by meadows of medicinal herbs. I would keep the area are marl, perfect for the ripening of the grapes and, consequently, for the production of fine wines. Even the climate is particularly favorable to viticulture, in fact day come from Friuli warm sea breezes, while the extreme temperature changes between day and night, favor the development of flavors in the grapes. The family Vodopivec has devoted to organic farming, or no use of chemical fertilizer, but only natural green manure and manure in the vineyard and, of course, only natural yeasts and limited use of sulfur in the cellar. The vines that are found in this vineyard are essentially two: the Rebula (Ribolla) and Sivi Pinot (Pinot Gris), but there are also other old grape varieties such as Zelen and Pinela. The main wine of this company is a wonderful Ribolla, a still white really enjoyed with the utmost attention to grasp all the aromas and flavors.
