'Acqua della Serpa' in Anfora Annesanti 2021

"Acqua della Serpa in Anfora" is a white wine fruit of the experimentations, in the grandpfather vineyard with mixed rows, of the young winemaker Francesco Annesanti. Vinified in contact with the skins in terracotta amphora, it exudes intense floral and citrusy puffs, with an enveloping and fresh sip, supported by a long salty and persistent breath.

'ACQUA DELLA SERPA' IN ANFORA ANNESANTI 2021 DESCRIPTION

'L'Acqua della Serpa' in Anfora from the Annesanti winery is an intense, enveloping white wine produced in Arrone in the Valnerina, in the province of Terni, Umbria. This label is made from a blend of Grechetto, Trebbiano, Malvasia, Martone and other varieties from a mixed-row vineyard that was the result of early experimentation by the current owner's grandfather. The vines face south-east and are trained using the "a archetto" method on soils characterised by loamy-clayey soils. The winery is now run by Francesco Annesanti, who has adopted an experimental and uncompromising approach that testifies to great passion, a strong artistic flair and a maniacal attention to quality.

Annesanti 'Acqua della Serpa' is produced from carefully selected grapes harvested by hand at the most propitious time for their ripening. The bunches are then taken to the cellar where they undergo delicate destemming and alcoholic fermentation, which takes place spontaneously using only indigenous yeasts, in terracotta amphorae with maceration on the skins. The wine then matures on its skins for approximately 10 months in 400-litre terracotta amphorae and 3 months in glass demijohns before being bottled without clarification, filtration or stabilisation.

In Amphora 'Acqua della Serpa' by Annesanti presents itself to the eye with a brilliant straw yellow colour with intense golden textures. On the nose are citrus and white fruit aromas, floral notes of white flowers, including orange blossom, jasmine and white rose, hints of pungent spices with mentholated and balsamic echoes. In the mouth it is vibrant, delicate and subtle, characterised by great freshness and a briny finish that makes for a very pleasant drink. This expression from the Annesanti winery is a very special and characteristic macerated wine, made as in the past using artisanal methods.
