Albarino Corisca 2022

Corisca's Albariño is a fresh organic white wine from Gallizia, an area of increasing prestige for Iberian oenology. The grapes of this typical variety are cultivated with low yields to express the area's marine character to the full. The nose is expressive and crisp, with generous aromas of white fruit, accompanied by notes of ripe grapes, mineral sensations and hints of hay on the finish. On the palate a vibrant freshness emerges in pleasant balance with the fruit. Perfect with fish dishes such as octopus 'alla gallega'.

ALBARINO CORISCA 2022 DESCRIPTION

The Albariño Rias Baixas from the Spanish winery Corisca is a white wine that stands out for its freshness and dynamic taste, produced in Galicia from organically grown grapes. Among the fundamentals that guide the production of the Corisca winery, the preservation of the territory and its traditions plays a prominent role. With this in mind, in addition to sustainable agriculture, Corisca is committed to preserving the traditional farming system of the Rias Baixas: the so-called 'Parra', a type of marquee. The vineyards, located along the Miño river valley, are then surrounded by forests and mountains, natural elements that protect the plants from the strong Atlantic winds that blow through the area.

The Albariño Corisca Rias Baixas comes from pure Albariño grapes grown on granitic soils characterised by an abundance of gravel. The vines are between 10 and 40 years old and are cultivated in accordance with the principles of certified organic farming. Following the harvest, the grapes are transferred to the cellar, where they are vinified using the white wine method through soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks. In the same type of wine vats, the 3-month maturation phase takes place, spent on the fine lees to enrich the body and complexity of the wine.

Corisca's Rias Baixas Albariño possesses a luminous straw yellow colour with brilliant greenish highlights. The aromatic bouquet is described by intense fruity aromas of pear, apple and fresh grapes, combined with vivid mineral accents and nuances of hay. Taste of marked freshness and excellent balance, characterised by a dynamic and slender progression that rests on a finish of good sapid-mineral persistence.
