ALBARINO FRIZZANTE 'ANCESTRAL' ALBAMAR 2021 DESCRIPTION

The Albarino Frizzante 'Ancestral' is an artisanal bottle with a marine soul, produced in Galicia by the Albamar winery. It is a refined Ancestral Method interpretation of the indigenous Albariño grape variety. The Albamar winery, located in Cambados, in the Rias Baixas, is run by the Alba family, which in 2006 found in the young Xurxo more than an asset. In fact, the winemaker has taken up the viticultural heritage of his father, who was dedicated to making rather simple wines, with the intention of creating sincere expressions in harmony with nature, conveying directly into the bottle the Atlantic territory in which the grapes grow.

Albamar Albarino 'Ancestral' Frizzante is made from only Albariño grapes grown in accordance with the principles of organic farming, supplemented by biodynamic practices, on soils rich in granite sand and slate near the Atlantic Ocean. In the cellar, alcoholic fermentation is entrusted exclusively to the yeasts present on the grapes and in the winemaking environment, while refermentation takes place in the bottle with the natural sugars of the must-wine according to the Ancestral Method, hence the name. Refinement on the lees in the bottle lasts for 8 months before final disgorgement.

At the sight, the Albarino Frizzante 'Ancestral' of the Galician viticultural reality Albamar reveals a straw yellow hue. The olfactory panorama is described by scents of white flowers and lemon peel, embellished with marine mineral sensations. In the mouth, the citrus freshness is enhanced by the fine and well integrated bubbles, which anticipate the pleasant, almost salty finish. For its gracefulness and dynamism, as well as for its maritime character, this Albariño is an exceptional combination to fish fried.
